Being that this is the first post of the New Year for me, I figured I would post my goals for the upcoming cycling season.
They are as Follows:
4000+ miles
A minimum of 12 Organized / Supported Rides
and Ave. speed over 18mph.
I'm already off to a great start! As of today I have logged 490 miles. Even though Mother Nature has been very generous with the great weather as of late, most of those miles are on the Trainer. I'll get out on the road more once I find some good, safe routes in Denton.
I have already signed up for two supported rides.... The Cycle Zydeco ride in Lafayette and the MS150 Dallas to Fort Worth.
The Cycle Zydeco is a 4 day, 200 miles ride that starts and ends in Lafayette, Louisiana. It looks like Nathan, Phil, Tracy and I are the only MBBC Members riding in this one and from what I've seem on the web site, It looks like it'll be a freaking blast.......... 4 days of Beer, Cajun Food, Zydeco Music, and cycling.
The second ride I’ve signed up for is the MS150 Dallas to Forth Worth. I will be riding for Plano Cycling + Fitness Team Ticket. We will be riding to raise money for Lone Star Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It will be a 2 day 150 mile ride that starts in Frisco, rides out to Lake Ray Roberts just north of Denton, then to TMS, around Eagle Mountain Lake, and finishing in Sundance Square in Downtown Fort Worth. Again, this one looks like a great ride and is for a great cause.
