Well today I officially began my cycling season with a nice tour of the Sulpher Springs area. The Weather was perfect and they had a pretty good turn out. This was my first time to ride this rally and it definitely wont be the last! The reviews I had read said this was once of the best rides of the year and they were right.

The rest stops were well stocked, the volunteers were friendly and the home made stew, cookies and cake at the end were incredible. Best post ride spread of any ride. The Terrain was mostly flat on good roads with minimal Traffic.

Since it was so early in the season I wasn't sure which ride I was going to attempt. I decided to made the decision at the 41/66 mile split. When I arrived at the split (About 20 Miles in) I was feeling pretty good and decided to do the 66 mile route (which ended up being 69 miles). I ended the ride averaging just under 16 mph and for being as out of shape as I am, I felt pretty good afterwards.

I look forward to doing it again next year!
